Danna Epstein Marcus
BHSc, MScPT, Dip. Manip., FCAMPT, CIDN
Danna received her Honors Specialization in Health Sciences Bachelors Degree from Western University and her Masters of Science in Physiotherapy from McMaster University. She continued her Physiotherapy education by completing her Diploma of Advanced Manual and Manipulative Therapy to become a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT). To complement her manual therapy skills, she has also completed training in acupuncture through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute and is certified in Integrated Dry Needling. In addition to her clinical practice, Danna enjoys teaching and has facilitated in the University of Toronto Physiotherapy program.
Danna has formal training in music and dance including ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, and tap. She has extensive training in dance rehabilitation in areas including pre-season and pre-pointe assessments, assessment and treatment of dance injuries and hypermobility disorders, establishing safe warm up and stretching routines, dance specific exercise rehabilitation including core stability, strategies to improve turn out, arabesque, développé and other dance specific techniques. She is a member of Healthy Dancer Canada and Pivot Dancer. She has training in clinical taping with dance specific adaptations. She has treated dancers at the National Ballet School of Canada, Mirvish, George Brown College, Ryerson University, Centennial College, York University, as well as dancers across multiple studios around the GTA.
Since becoming a mother, Danna has developed a keen interest in Women’s Health. She has completed training to become Certified in Postnatal Fitness through the Postnatal Fitness Specialist Academy. She enjoys educating women about prenatal and postnatal conditions including pelvic/low back pain, diastasis rectus, incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and providing external pelvic treatment and strategies for a safe return to daily activity and exercise.
Danna combines her manual therapy skills with exercise prescription, dry needling, taping, and client education in order to help her clients achieve their personal goals.
